FC-4 Data System

The FC4 is our legacy fermentation control system suitable for controlling multiple vessels. Customers requiring expanded capabilities should also consider The RTF-5 and Upgrades.

Accurate, Reliable and Cost-Effective Fermentation Control

The FC4 controller has a proven record of successful fermentation control. With its 16 fully isolated inputs, already configured for direct connection to fermenter probes, 8 analog outputs and 16 power outputs, the FC4 is ready for direct connection to any bioreactor vessel.

Features:

The FC4 can control and log several fermentors simultaneously, and is thus highly cost-effective for multiple fermentor installations. Typically, 1 to 4 bioreactors are controlled by an FC4; Fermenter probes and output devices connect directly to the FC4, without the need for additional instrumentation.

Designed and optimised for fermentor control, with safety and immunity from interference: Isolated inputs, Isolated communications, Isolated power outputs.

A wide range of host computer software is available: Windows, DOS, Labview and Hypercard software for PC and AppleMac computers. Functions provided include Logging, Graphics, Set-Point Schedules, calibration, controller tuning, feed profiles, automatic sterilisation, and many more functions.

The Benchtop Service Panel, for Lab scale fermenters, contains peristaltic addition pumps, condenser water flow, air control and Mass Flow meter, and temperature control devices. It requires only 310 mm of bench space. Being fully compatible with the FC4, and with simple 'quick-connects' to fermentor ports, the Service Panel provides an easy, neat solution to the maze of bioreactor plumbing.
For multiple bioreactors, the FC4 can control up to four Service Panels.
